Our Story
Senior year of college, Hanna’s friend (and now bridesmaid) Kelly decided she wanted to put together a recurring bar trivia team. She invited a couple of friends, Hanna invited a couple of friends. One of Kelly’s friends brought Firas. It didn’t take long until one trivia night, there was a flags category. Fun fact about Firas: he knows every single flag of every single country. Suffice it to say, Hanna was dazzled and the rest is history. Firas and Hanna became inseparable after the first date.
They graduated college together and spent the following year exploring the city of Chicago together, one neighborhood at a time, while they applied to professional school side by side. When Firas got into medical school at Case Western Reserve University and Hanna got into PA school at Butler University, letting geography break them up was never a discussion, neither was giving up on their professional goals. So, they welcomed their long distance relationship era in with open arms as Firas went off to Cleveland and Hanna to Indianapolis. They survived five years of long distance with long drives and bus rides across the midwest for visits and FaceTime cooking and movie dates. People would gasp when Firas or Hanna would tell others how long they had survived long distance. But, when people would ask if it was hard, Hanna or Firas would answer: “it’s easy when it’s the right person”.
However, when it was time for long distance to end, Firas matched for residency in Boston. While Hanna started wrapping up her life in Chicago, a few months before the move Firas surprised her at the Boston Public Library with the biggest jump-scare of her life, and a ring. A few months later, Hanna hit the road for the East Coast, joining her new fiancé and her sisters in Massachusetts. Hanna and Firas have now made a home together in Boston, with their three children (cats) – Fitzgerald, Josephine, and Franklin. Though Firas’s residency work schedule is demanding, they spend every spare second they have exploring their neighborhood, cooking together, tending to their garden, and somehow they still find time to dominate at bar trivia every once in a while. They can’t wait to celebrate their marriage with you in their new home state!
